Avobenzone is a broad-spectrum organic UV filter that absorbs UVA rays, particularly long-wave UVA (UVA-I), providing protection against photoaging and photodamage. It requires stabilization with other ingredients or photostabilizers because it degrades rapidly under UV exposure.
